{"id":243690,"date":"2006-10-20T11:47:10","date_gmt":"2006-10-20T15:47:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2006\/10\/murder-accused-is-freed"},"modified":"2006-10-20T11:47:10","modified_gmt":"2006-10-20T15:47:10","slug":"murder-accused-is-freed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2006\/10\/murder-accused-is-freed","title":{"rendered":"Murder Accused Is Freed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When Archer returned to a Freeport Magistrate court yesterday morning for the continuation of his preliminary inquiry, the prosecution, which closed its case yesterday, was not able to establish a prima facie case against him and he was granted dismissal on those grounds by Magistrate Helen Jones. <\/p>\n<p>Shurland said he is very pleased with the outcome of the Inquiry, which started back in April, 2006. <\/p>\n<p>According to reports, around 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 police received several calls from residents in the Somerville Drive neighbourhood, who reported hearing gunshots being fired. <\/p>\n<p>Uniformed and plainclothes officers who responded found Martin lying face-up on the ground, just inside the gate of his front yard, suffering from gunshot wounds to his face, neck and torso. <\/p>\n<p>Martin succumbed to injuries several days later. <\/p>\n<p>Police believe that the shooting was a drug-related matter because officers recovered a quantity of cocaine from the scene. <\/p>\n<p>Archer initially was represented by attorney K.
