{"id":244260,"date":"2003-10-28T00:30:09","date_gmt":"2003-10-28T05:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2003\/10\/juvenile-charged-with-murder"},"modified":"2003-10-28T00:30:09","modified_gmt":"2003-10-28T05:30:09","slug":"juvenile-charged-with-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2003\/10\/juvenile-charged-with-murder","title":{"rendered":"Juvenile Charged With Murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The decision left both his father and younger brother in tears. <\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Dressed in a long sleeved denim shirt, dark gray slacks and sneakers, the juvenile, who kept his head hung low, appeared before Magistrate Susan Sylvester Friday afternoon in connection with last week&#8217;s fatal stabbing of 14-year-old Jeffrey Clerveaux.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>The St. Margaret Road resident, who is of Haitian descent, is accused of stabbing Clerveaux to death last Tuesday following an altercation. Police said Clerveaux, who was a resident of Balls Alley, was stabbed in the left shoulder around 5:30pm and died shortly afterwards, becoming the country&#8217;s 37th murder victim for the year.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>The accused, who was represented by attorney Dion Smith, was not allowed to enter a plea. Before being escorted to a nearby police car, the 17-year-old requested permission to say goodbye to his brother, who was waiting outside the court during the arraignment.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>A preliminary inquiry has been set for Tuesday, October 29 at 10am before a juvenile panel. The preliminary inquiry will determine if there is sufficient evidence for the case to go to trial.<\/P><br \/>\n<P><B>Macushla N.
