Mr. Maynard said the PLP’s government is “too large and not enough people are performing”. He said the size would not have been an issue if the public was getting value for their money.

\n“The size would not have been too large if they were getting value for money. I do not see us getting value for money. I can see a lot f people performing, but I do not see us getting our money’s worth.”
\nMr. Maynard, a stalwart PLP council member, a former senator and party chairman, was guest yesterday on Jones and Co’s radio show. He said the economy has become stagnant.
\n“The average businessman is finding it difficult to pay their bills,” he said.
\n
\nHe said the government is spending too much momey in the wrong areas.
\n
\n“In foreign affairs we are behaving like a big shot,” he said. “we cannot afford to be on every chair and committee.” He said while it is important to foster interantional relationships, it cannot be done at the expense of the people.”
\n
\n“The grass is growing but the cow is starving,” he said.
\n
\nMr. Maynard said another problem is that government is spending too much of its tourism dollars on food that should be grown in the country.
\n
\nCreating a stronger farming industry would create more jobs he said.
