The sick-out, which affected dozens of flights beteween Florida and Nassau and Nassau-Freeport and the Family Islands on Sunday left mnay annoyed passengers.

\nOne airline employee told The Tribune that insiders were aware of the sick-out since Saturday.

\n“The pilots and the other workers had said that they were holding the sick-out from noon Sunday until their demands of back pay, pay increases and Christmas bonuses were met.”
\n
Another employee claimed that the PLP government was not following the FNM’s lead by setting an example.
\n
\nThe employee recalled that the FNM government reduced the salaries of all Cabinet ministers and MP’s when the economy was tight, before asking Bahamians to do the same.

\n“This government is spending too much money and taking too many trips, and even though there is a hiring freeze, hiring consultants, relatives and friends, the employee said.
