Junkanoo leaders met last night to decide their position on the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture’s move to grant C3 Seating Co a five-year ticketing and bleacher contract, a well placed source told The tribune yesterday.

\nHowever, the source said, the Junkanoo community is hoping the call from some one in their group to boycott Junkanoo this year will not materialis because hopes are still high that the matter can be resolved before it gets to that stage.

\nThe source also confirmed that Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture Neville Wisdom met with the Junkanoo leaders on Wednesday evening but did not resolve any of their concerns.
\n
\nThe source said Mr. Wisdom appeared to be more concerned about bleacher seating than the threat of the Junkanoo groups boycotting the parade altogether.
\n
\nHe said Junkanoo leaders are also concerned that they know nothing about the C3 Seating Co – the company responsible for ticketing at this year’s parade.
\n
\n“That’s another problem,” the source said. “It’s like slavery. We are rushing and the money is going to the master. We don’t even know these people.”
\n
\nFurther the source said there are still many outstanding issues left over from last year’s Junkanoo parade that were never dealt with comprehensively by the ministry.<\/p>\n
