President of the Bahamas Association of Casino Employees, Tyrone ‘Rock’ Morris has warned government and Kerzner International that his people have been alerted to act on short notice and do “wahtever it takes” to get their union at the hotel.

\nLast night, Mr. Morris told The Tribune that nothing is being planned, but warned that “action will be taken”.

\n“It’s been 20 months since the law changed and a lot is happening at Kerzner and that is why we are having so much of a problem,” said Mr. Morris. “We want the government to to assist us.”
\n
\nAt a press conference on Monday, Mr. Morris warned government that if it didn’t allow Kerzner International’s casino workers to have a union, they were going to “see what will happen this big week-end”.

\nThe “big weekend” Mr. Morris warned about is the American Thanksgiving weekend, which is one of the most lucrative times for the tourism industry.
\n
\nMr. Morris was quick tonote that he and his union members do not have “major issues” with Kerzner international. None of the union members took part in the industrial demonstartion at the resort’s Royal Towres last week.

\n“We don’t need Kerzner International to do anything,” he told The Tribune. ” We need government to follow the law and stop being such a wimp.”
