Ticket booths for the senior parades, at various locations, including the Kendal G. L. Isaacs National Gymnasium, Cable Beach and Paradise Island hotels, go on sale Dec. 15. Tickets will be available at the parades or can also be purchased via the Internet at www.junkanoo.com. <\/P><\/p>\n
Last year, tickets were priced at $100 and $75 for Rawson Square; this year, tickets have been slashed in half, with other locations priced as low as $5. V.I.P. seats, however, are $65 and $75. <\/P><\/p>\n
\nC3, the Bahamian company contracted to market the seating and supply the bleaches, according to a press statement sent to The Guardian recently, “Will supply and sell the tickets for the upcoming parades at considerably lower cost than last year’s.” <\/P><\/p>\n
\nThe company was involved in a three-week controversy after being awarded a five-year contract by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, to provide seating, marshalling, marketing and ticketing distribution services. <\/P><\/p>\n
\nThe press statement further revealed that government workers would be appointed to monitor tickets sales, while the company’s accounts, with respect to ticketing, will be audited by a public accounting firm approved by the government so that all sales are verified and accounted for. <\/P><\/p>\n
\n“It is the intention of the Ministry and the National Junkanoo Committee to work very closely with C3 to ensure that adequate seating is provided to the public and that ticket holders would have easy access to their seats at the parades,” the press statement continued. <\/P><\/p>\n
\nAs for the Jr. Junkanoo parade, tickets went on sale at Galleria Cinemas in the Mall at Marathon, from this past weekend. <\/P><\/p>\n
