{"id":24470,"date":"2012-08-08T08:53:15","date_gmt":"2012-08-08T12:53:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=24470"},"modified":"2012-08-08T10:51:45","modified_gmt":"2012-08-08T14:51:45","slug":"grand-bahama-police-enforce-rules-of-the-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2012\/08\/grand-bahama-police-enforce-rules-of-the-road","title":{"rendered":"Grand Bahama Police Enforce Rules of The Road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-24471\" style=\"margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px;\" title=\"police\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/police.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/police.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/police-150x112.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>A number of bikers were left grounded this holiday weekend after traffic police in Grand Bahama confiscated several motorcycles from unsuspecting riders.<\/p>\n<p>Officers from the Traffic Division launched &#8220;Operation Trail Mix&#8221; on Sunday which was aimed at enforcing the rules of the road.<\/p>\n<p>Police say it was a message of no tolerance for prolific traffic offenders, particularly those on motorcycles.<\/p>\n<p>The exercise was carried out between 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. and netted eight trail bikes.<\/p>\n<p>The bikes were confiscated in the Williams&#8217; Town area after they were suspected of being stolen, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>Eight males between the ages of 18 and 30 years old, who identified themselves as the riders, are assisting the police.<\/p>\n<p>Abaco police carried out a similar exercise called &#8220;Operation Peace on the Streets&#8221; between 6:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4 and 6:00 a.m. Monday, August.<\/p>\n<p>The combined police effort resulted in two motorcycles being taken off the streets on that northern island.<\/p>\n<p>According to police, a Honda trail motorbike and a Yamaha four-wheeler was confiscated for breach of the Road Traffic Act.<\/p>\n<p>Two males, a 15 and 24 year old, are said to be assisting police.<\/p>\n<p>Investigations into these matters are continuing.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, police in Grand Bahama are continuing their investigations into an armed robbery at China Temple last weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Police say they were called to the Freeport International Bazaar around 9:35 p.m. where employees at that restaurant were held up and robbed.<\/p>\n<p>The owner and operator of the eatery reported that two masked men, dressed in dark clothing with one brandishing a handgun, entered the establishment and demanded cash.<\/p>\n<p>The men reportedly robbed the employees of cash before making good their escape.<\/p>\n<p>The police is asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call 350-3107\/8, 352-9774\/5 or 911.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>The Freeport News<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is a shame that Cable Beach police officers do not stop the obnoxious motorcycle races on Bay Street every Sunday night.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":12,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"rop_custom_images_group":[],"rop_custom_messages_group":[],"rop_publish_now":"initial","rop_publish_now_accounts":{"facebook_10223285771444175_51037792744":""},"rop_publish_now_history":[],"rop_publish_now_status":"pending","footnotes":""},"categories":[12],"tags":[49,38,119,62],"class_list":["post-24470","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-headlines","tag-law","tag-police","tag-roads","tag-traffic"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/24470","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/12"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=24470"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/24470\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=24470"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=24470"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=24470"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
