Authorities said the girl&#8217;s family knows Poitier.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Police said 14-year-old Khatrel Dorsett was found alive Thursday afternoon after apparently escaping.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Shortly after 1pm Thursday, a male employee of Bahama Hand Prints was driving along John F. Kennedy Drive past the Nassau International Airport when he saw a girl waving to him in the distance, police said.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>They claimed that the man said he noticed that the girl was shackled at the feet. He reportedly stopped and called the police who rushed to the scene.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Police say the girl&#8217;s mouth had been clamped shut with duct tape and a makeshift bed had been set up for her near the tree for her to sleep.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>According to Police Chief Superintendent Hulan Hanna, Khatrel was assisted by ambulance personnel, after being found in an unkempt condition. Otherwise, police said she appeared to be in good health.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Authorities now appear to be deeply concerned about what impact the crime has had on her psychologically.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>She was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital for examination.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Khatrel, a resident of Quintine Alley, is a 10th grade student of C. C. Sweeting High School.
