{"id":245389,"date":"2004-06-01T11:58:52","date_gmt":"2004-06-01T15:58:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2004\/06\/gay-cruise-arrives-amid-controversy"},"modified":"2004-06-01T11:58:52","modified_gmt":"2004-06-01T15:58:52","slug":"gay-cruise-arrives-amid-controversy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2004\/06\/gay-cruise-arrives-amid-controversy","title":{"rendered":"Gay Cruise Arrives Amid Controversy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Bahamas Christian Council (BCC) has made it clear that it will not welcome &#8221;this or any other gay cruise&#8221;.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nThe ship is spending the night in Nassau and leaving tomorrow morning to return to Port Canaveral, Florida.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nCruise organisers say the cruise is not exclusively gay but they have booked  a large block of cabins and will be hosting special events for the &#8221;Gay Days&#8221; guests.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nMembers of the BCC, led by their president Rev, Dr. William Thompson, met with Prime Minister Perry Christie on Thursday to set out their views on the cruise.
