Mr Dupuch is chairman of a House select committee investigating the problems associated with the ramp.<\/P>

Although the committee won’t meet formally until after the Budget Debate, Mr Dupuch said suggestions are already pouring in about what to do with the ramp-turned-market place.<\/P>

Some of the suggestions received to date include:
\uffb7 Close the ramp and turn the area into a park.<\/P>
\n
\uffb7 Relocate the fish stalls to a large area of land east of the Royal Nassau Sailing Club.<\/P>
\n
\uffb7 Leave the stalls on the ramp and install a feeder road to the area, thus drawing the boat and market traffic from the main road. Beautify the area with seagrape trees.<\/P>
\n
\uffb7 Leave the stalls in their present location and move the ramp to the area between Fort Montagu and the Nassau Yacht Club.<\/P>
\n
\uffb7 Move both the ramp and stalls to the area just east of Potters Cay and west of the William Street dock. Turn this area into a tourist attraction with a building housing a fish market on the ground floor and a restaurant on a second floor.<\/P>

\uffb7 Move the ramp and stalls to the area just east of the old Pan Am building, creating a Bahamian Village and converting the area into a tourist attraction.<\/P>
\n
\uffb7 Leave the ramp where it is, create a feeder road for boat users, but move the market to the area of either the Pan Am building or William Street.<\/P>
\n
Some Bahamians have expressed concern about the limited recreational areas east of town. They have suggested removing the seawall from Montagu Park to allow the beach to return.<\/P>
