{"id":245687,"date":"2004-08-16T12:22:23","date_gmt":"2004-08-16T16:22:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2004\/08\/airport-security-screening-holds-up-travellers"},"modified":"2004-08-16T12:22:23","modified_gmt":"2004-08-16T16:22:23","slug":"airport-security-screening-holds-up-travellers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2004\/08\/airport-security-screening-holds-up-travellers","title":{"rendered":"Airport Security Screening Holds Up Travellers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Travellers waited for up to two hours in the line for security screening at Nassau International Airport on Saturday.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nThe line stretched from the security points inside the terminal through the United States departure building out the door and all the way to the non-US departure building.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nOne of the luggage screening machines at the airport had broken down early Saturday morning, making waits even longer as only one machine was left to deal with all passengers.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nAn American Airlines representative said the long lines have become normal over the last few weeks as this is a peak travelling period.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nThe screening machine was working again within a couple of hours.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nDozens of hot and uncomfortable passengers struggled with their luggage as the line moved steadily forward, snaking in between check-in desks and through the small area behind the desks.
