According to Abaco Chamber of Commerce president, Michael Albury, &#8220;his organisation and the Abaco community as a whole are more than pleased with The Counsellors&#8217; continued commitment to hosting an event of this magnitude once again on their island.&#8221; <\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>&#8220;Abaco&#8217;s growth and contribution to the Bahamian economy cannot be overlooked and so it&#8217;s only logical that we continue to expand our roster of conference sites to include this island which is definitely on the move,&#8221; says Joan Albury, President, The Counsellors Ltd. <\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Speakers at the September conference include a cadre of professionals from various fields throughout the country. Attendees will hear from Obie Wilchcombe, Minister of Tourism &#8211; &#8220;Building on Diversity&#8221;; Michael Albury, President, Abaco Chamber of Commerce \uff96 &#8220;Welcome Address&#8221;; Glen Pritchard, Tropic Seafood &#8211; &#8220;Fisheries Opportunities &#038; Challenges&#8221;; Felix Stubbs, IBM &#8211; &#8220;Technology, Communication &#038; Information&#8221;; Art Sands, 1st V.P., Abaco Chamber of Commerce, &#8220;Abaco Outlook&#8221;; Dale McHardy, Manager, Business Advisory Services &#038; Corporate Secretary, Bahamas Development Bank \uff96 &#8220;Economic Diversity &#038; Strength Through Small Business&#8221;; John Bethel, Tropical Shipping &#8211; &#8220;The Shipping Industry: Indicator of Economic Growth&#8221;; Mark Scott, G.M., The Abaco Club of Winding Bay &#8211; &#8220;Report on the Resort Development&#8221;; and Alfred Stewart, Chairman, Social Security Reform Commission \uff96 &#8220;Social Security Reform&#8221;. <\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>&#8220;The wide array of speakers and topics certainly reflects the seminar&#8217;s theme of &#8216;Building on Diversity&#8217;,&#8221; says Joan Albury. &#8220;Abaco is blessed with a diverse economy whether agriculture, fisheries, tourism, etc., and the purpose of the seminar is to showcase the various different opportunities available for the growth of individual businesses, the island&#8217;s economy and the country as a whole.&#8221; <\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>&#8220;We&#8217;re extremely excited to return to Abaco,&#8221; she further added. &#8220;The reception we received last year was overwhelming and numerous attendees, including local high school students, thanked us for bringing such an informative and timely programme directly to them.&#8221; <\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>The &#8216;Business Outlook&#8217; seminars began 13 years ago in New Providence, with this year&#8217;s Nassau edition drawing hundreds in January under the theme &#8220;Looking Out For Global Opportunities&#8221;.
