The popular All-Abaco Regatta held towards the end of each year has been cancelled for 2004 due to Hurricane Frances. <\/P><\/p>\n
Information was received by the Bahama Journal from the Prime Minister\uffb4s Office on Wednesday. <\/P><\/p>\n
\uff93The Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced that the All-Abaco Regatta this year has been cancelled. Funds earmarked by the ministry for this regatta are now to be used to contribute to the cost of recovery and reconstruction of the damage done in Abaco by Hurricane Frances,\uff92 said a release from the PM\uffb4s Office but attributed to the Ministry of Youth and Sports. <\/P><\/p>\n
The Bahama Journal spoke to Ministry Permanent Secretary Harrison Thompson and he expressed no knowledge of the release and was not able to say whether any dialogue had taken place with the Regatta Committee. <\/P><\/p>\n
