{"id":245859,"date":"2004-09-20T12:17:14","date_gmt":"2004-09-20T16:17:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2004\/09\/shootings-involving-nassau-police"},"modified":"2004-09-20T12:17:14","modified_gmt":"2004-09-20T16:17:14","slug":"shootings-involving-nassau-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2004\/09\/shootings-involving-nassau-police","title":{"rendered":"Shootings Involving Nassau Police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The weekend saw two police-related shootings, one armed robbery of a semor citizen and an incident of grievous harm.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nThe first police-related shooting took place on Friday at 8:15pm at the Esso Service Station on Village and Soldier Road.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nPolice were asked to help when people observed two men allegedly carrying a firearm tucked into his waistband, on two trail motorbikes at the service station.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nAs two police officers approached the bikers, a confrontation ensued and the armed man jumped on his vehicle and sped off.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nBefore leaving, however, the man turned and waved his firearm in the direction of the police officers<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nAs a result the two police officers &#8211; &#8220;in fear for their life&#8221; &#8211; opened fire, Chief Supt.
