{"id":245949,"date":"2004-10-21T12:17:31","date_gmt":"2004-10-21T16:17:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2004\/10\/bahamas-family-island-murder-shock"},"modified":"2004-10-21T12:17:31","modified_gmt":"2004-10-21T16:17:31","slug":"bahamas-family-island-murder-shock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2004\/10\/bahamas-family-island-murder-shock","title":{"rendered":"Bahamas Family Island Murder Shock"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Detectives flew to Cat Island yesterday afternoon to investigate two seperate incidents of murder of a man and woman.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nAccording to reports, the first victim, a 28-year-old man was blasted to death with a shotgun at his home in Zonicle Hill.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nPolice from Cat Island contacted the authorities in Nassau and reported that Victor Hoyte, was found lying dead in his doorway with a close-range shotgun wound to the head. <\/p>\n<p><P>According to their report, sometime after 11pm Mr. Hoyte, who lives on Zonicle Hill with his girlfriend, answered a knock at his front door.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nMr. Hoyte&#8217;s companion told police that she overheard a loud conversation followed by a single gunshot. She said when she went outside she found the body and saw a vehicle leaving the scene.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nAlso under investigation is the gruesome murder of a 49-year-old American resident Mrs. Carol Meredith, who lived 15 miles away. The murder occurred the same night and is believed to have been committed by the same person.
