{"id":246085,"date":"2004-11-15T11:36:43","date_gmt":"2004-11-15T16:36:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2004\/11\/sol-kerzner-named-hotelier-of-the-world"},"modified":"2004-11-15T11:36:43","modified_gmt":"2004-11-15T16:36:43","slug":"sol-kerzner-named-hotelier-of-the-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2004\/11\/sol-kerzner-named-hotelier-of-the-world","title":{"rendered":"Sol Kerzner Named &#8216;Hotelier of the World&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sol Kerzner has been named &#8220;corporate hotelier of the world&#8221; by Hotels magazine, his company Kerzner International Ltd announced today, from Paradise Island in the Bahamas.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Announcing the award in this month&#8217;s issue, the magazine wrote that Kerzner&#8217;s story was about defying expectations, carving out a new niche and &#8220;wowing&#8221; guests as a developer of resorts, casinos and hotels in Mauritius, Dubai, the Maldives, Mexico and the Bahamas.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Now in its 24th year, the annual award was made to a corporate and independent hotelier voted for by the magazine&#8217;s 60,000 readers in 170 countries, Kerzner International said.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Kerzner&#8217;s hospitality career began in 1960 in Durban, but he is best known for his involvement in the country&#8217;s first five-star hotel, The Beverly Hills Hotel, and the Southern Sun chain, including Sun City, with which he is no longer affiliated.
