{"id":246276,"date":"2004-12-15T11:54:37","date_gmt":"2004-12-15T16:54:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2004\/12\/jitney-drivers-threaten-sit-out"},"modified":"2004-12-15T11:54:37","modified_gmt":"2004-12-15T16:54:37","slug":"jitney-drivers-threaten-sit-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2004\/12\/jitney-drivers-threaten-sit-out","title":{"rendered":"Jitney Drivers Threaten Sit-Out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jitney drivers have threatened to stage a massive sit-out after the Department of Road Traffic issued 68 traffic citations for what the drivers considered to be &#8220;petty and biased&#8221; charges.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nThe drivers were given citations for a variety of traffic violations including not closing doors while the bus was in motion, stopping in areas which were not designated bus stops or creating third lanes while driving.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nSome were also summoned for not wearing proper attire.
