{"id":24661,"date":"2012-08-13T18:22:05","date_gmt":"2012-08-13T22:22:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=24661"},"modified":"2012-08-15T09:17:55","modified_gmt":"2012-08-15T13:17:55","slug":"north-abaco-by-election-getting-interesting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2012\/08\/north-abaco-by-election-getting-interesting","title":{"rendered":"North Abaco By-Election Getting Interesting"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_24662\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-24662\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-24662\" title=\"poker\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/poker.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/poker.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/poker-150x112.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-24662\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">poker<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The official opposition Free National Movement (FNM) has raised the stakes tremendously for the upcoming by-election in north Abaco by sacrificing their Chairman \u2013 Charles Maynard.<\/p>\n<p>Like a confident gambler in a poker game, the party has gone all-in in the Abacos.\u00a0 Will the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) call the bet by sacrificing their very own big man in the Chairman\u2019s seat; or will they fold?<\/p>\n<p>The approaching by-election in north Abaco has just gotten exciting, and the FNM has let it be known that they intend to go all-out to retain the seat left vacant by Hubert Alexander Ingraham.<\/p>\n<p>The FNM clearly believes that the PLP has not got the guts to answer their wager, or they could simply be calling them bluff.<\/p>\n<p>In any event, Charles Maynard is on the table \u2013 and in order for the PLP to win the game in Abaco, their Chairman will have to be the bundle used to match the FNM\u2019s stake.<\/p>\n<p>It remains to be seen if the PLP\u2019s wizards will be allowed to call the FNM\u2019s pot at the north Abaco poker table.<\/p>\n<p>The PLP has got enough chips to control the game for at least four more solid years; so \u2013 they could go south and leave the FNM and their dead chairman alone in the room.\u00a0 Only time will tell if the PLP will hold-up, fold-up, walk away or run in north Abaco.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>Dennis Dames<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Like a confident gambler in a poker game, the FNM has gone all-in in the Abacos.
