Yet another hit and run accident has occurred in the Bahamas, this time claiming the life of a 43-year-old woman who was taking an early morning exercise walk on East Mall Drive Tuesday.<\/p>\n
She was killed after being struck and left along the roadside by a hit-and-run driver.<\/p>\n
The body of Lydia Princess Simmons Dames was discovered lying face down on the side of East Mall Road opposite Burger King, about 100 feet north of Poinciana Drive.<\/p>\n
There have been far too many hit-and-run incidents recently and they seem to be increasing in number. Hit-and-run drivers are literally getting away with murder.<\/p>\n
Part of the problem is due to insurance companies like Security and General<\/b> who refuse to pull the policies of drivers who have engaged in this barbaric practice.<\/p>\n
Security and General is the insurance company for the driver of the red truck<\/a> that smashed into another vehicle on Bay Street and sped off. Despite concrete evidence that the truck and it’s owner were responsible for the hit-and-run, Security and General has done nothing in the way of compensating the victim or revoking the driver’s policy. Police are pursuing charges against the driver.<\/p>\n Some question if companies like Security and General are really in the insurance business at all. <\/p>\n
