Mitchell, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Public Service, has announced that The Bahamas&#8217; Embassy in Havana, Republic of Cuba, will be opened within the next two months. <\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>&#8220;The plans are quite advanced, with the Ministry of Works having approved the design of the building in the Cuban capital and works have begun,&#8221; Minister Mitchell told the House of Assembly Monday, during debate on the 2005-2006 budget. <\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>The Minister said that Cuba is one of The Bahamas&#8217; maritime neighbours, and that some 20,000 or more Bahamians travel to Cuba every year. <\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>&#8220;There is considerable demand for consular and diplomatic services.
