He then produced a black handgun and attempted to force the female victim into the vehicle.

A struggle ensued and the Carmichael Road resident was able to escape. The driver of the vehicle then sped off, said Inspector Evans.

A short time later just before 7 am, there was another abduction attempt.

A driver of a dark coloured Nissan vehicle attempted to force an 18-year-old female into his car, while she was standing in the area of Dunkin Donuts, East Street South.

According to Inspector Evans, the Fox Hill resident was also able to escape being abducted.

In other crime news, a man was stabbed Saturday night while riding a bus.

“Sometime after 8 pm on Saturday, Paul Thilome was approached by another male while he was on a bus in the Faith Avenue North area,” said Inspector Evans.

The robber had a knife in his possession and demanded cash from Mr Thilome, who refused to give him money. Mr Thilome was subsequently stabbed in the left shoulder with a knife, said Inspector Evans.

An armed robbery also took place on Friday, at the Village Road City Market food store.

Just after 7 pm, two masked gunmen entered the building and held employees and customers at gunpoint. The establishment was robbed of an undetermined amount of cash and a customer was robbed of some personal effects.

The robbers made their getaway in a green coloured vehicle. The direction in which they escaped is unknown.

The Orchard Apartment Hotel, located Village Road, was robbed just after 4 am Sunday morning.

According to Inspector Evans, a lone masked male entered the establishment with a chrome and black handgun.

“He held an employee at bay and requested cash. He was able to make his getaway with an undisclosed amount of cash,” said Inspector Evans.

Authorities believe that another person waiting outside, assisted the gunman.

At this time police investigations into all of the foregoing matters are ongoing.

By: JASMIN BONIMY, The Nassau Guardian

Police officials are cautioning women in the nation’s capital to be cautious, when traveling at odd hours.

{"facebook_10223285771444175_51037792744":"
[12

post-247813","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-headlines
["GET
