FREEPORT \uff96 Jerome Wells and Jermaine Russell appeared in a Freeport Magistrate court on Monday facing a combined four charges stemming from an incident at the International Bazaar last week.<\/p>\n
The accused stood before Magistrate Franklyn Williams charged with one count of disorderly behaviour, assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and failing to move.<\/p>\n
Particulars alleged that on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005 the two men while being concerned together did behave in a disorderly manner; further that they did fail to leave the parking lot of the International Bazaar after being instructed to do so by police officers.<\/p>\n
Reportedly, the accused on the same date did willingly and unlawfully assault officer #2869 Moore and resisted the lawful arrest of officer #2389 Sherman, while in the execution of his duties.<\/p>\n
Both Wells and Russell pleaded not guilty to the charges and the matter was set down for Monday, Jan. 30, 2006. Bail was granted at $3000 each with surety.<\/p>\n
In the same court, Earl Miller pleaded not guilty to a charge of vagrancy.<\/p>\n
It was alleged that on Friday, Sept. 23, 2005 Mr Miller was spotted by police near a bus stop on the Mall road unable to give an account for himself.<\/p>\n
Mr Miller pleaded not guilty stating that he was in the bus stop and not near it.<\/p>\n
After numerous interruption by the accused Magistrate Williams had him remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison, Fox Hill until Dec. 12, 2005, when a trial is expected to begin.<\/p>\n
In the same court, Ronaldo Johnson found himself before the magistrate pleading guilty to a number of traffic violations.<\/p>\n
Particulars alleged that on Monday, May 19, 2003 at about 10:40 a.m. Mr Johnson drove vehicle license No. 19559 without the proper certificate of inspection attached to the front windshield and the vehicle was not licenced for the year 2003.<\/p>\n
Further that on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2004 at about 11:30 a.m. Mr Johnson did drive vehicle license No. 32325, a white, Nissan, Altima with dark tinted windows.<\/p>\n
Johnson was fined $100 or two week for the first count, $200 or three months for the second and $80 or two weeks for the third count.<\/p>\n
