A 28-year-old Fox Hill man was in critical condition in hospital on Wednesday after he was shot during an attempted armed robbery Tuesday night, police said. <\/p>\n
Police Inspector Walter Evans told The Bahama Journal that the shooting happened shortly after 9pm.<\/p>\n
He said the man was a passenger in a Nissan vehicle in the Augusta Street area in Bain Town when another man approached him and demanded cash.<\/p>\n
After he did not receive any money, police say the criminal, who was brandishing a handgun, shoot the man in the back of the head.<\/p>\n
Investigations into the matter were ongoing.<\/p>\n
Police were also investigating two other armed robberies, the first occurring in broad daylight at the Best of the Best Beauty Salon.<\/p>\n
Police said around 3:30pm on Tuesday, two men entered the East Street South establishment. One was reportedly armed with a handgun. <\/p>\n
Police said the culprit held an employee at bay, robbing the store of a large amount of cash.<\/p>\n
The suspects also reportedly fled with the employees’ personal items and a customer’s cash and jewelry.<\/p>\n
The gunman was described as six feet tall, of slim built, and of dark complexion. He was reportedly wearing a jacket and is believed to be between 18 and 20.<\/p>\n
The second suspect is said to be around five feet nine inches tall and of dark complexion.<\/p>\n
Police said both men fled the scene on foot.<\/p>\n
Texaco East Bay Street was the target of Tuesday’s second armed robbery, police said.<\/p>\n
“A dark male dressed in all-blue with a corn-rowed hairstyle entered the store where he placed a black mask over his face,” Inspector Evans reported.<\/p>\n
“The mask had a red symbol on it. The man then produced a shotgun and approached the counter, robbing the establishment of cash before leaving on foot.”<\/p>\n
