{"id":247988,"date":"2005-10-19T11:13:50","date_gmt":"2005-10-19T15:13:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2005\/10\/yet-another-person-killed-in-hit-and-run-accident"},"modified":"2005-10-19T11:13:50","modified_gmt":"2005-10-19T15:13:50","slug":"yet-another-person-killed-in-hit-and-run-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2005\/10\/yet-another-person-killed-in-hit-and-run-accident","title":{"rendered":"Yet ANOTHER Person Killed In Hit And Run Accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police were on Tuesday on the lookout for the driver of a dark-coloured rented vehicle after an early morning hit and run accident left a man dead, authorities said.  <\/p>\n<p>He became the country&#8217;s 53rd traffic fatality for 2005.<\/p>\n<p>Police Inspector Walter Evans said the incident happened shortly after 12am when a dark male wearing dark coloured clothing was struck by the vehicle while walking on the southern side of Coconut Grove Avenue in the area of Twin Brothers. <\/p>\n<p>Mr. Evans said the vehicle was traveling west at the time. He said following the accident, medical professionals pronounced the victim dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The man, whose identity was not released, is believed to be in his late 30s.<\/p>\n<p>Following the accident Mr. Evans gave some advice.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are advising those individuals who have to travel in dark areas during the night to wear light coloured clothing,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information about who the driver of the vehicle may be is asked to call the nearest police station or 919.<\/p>\n<p><small>By: Macushla N.
