{"id":248258,"date":"2005-12-02T12:19:07","date_gmt":"2005-12-02T17:19:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2005\/12\/english-tourist-drowns-in-bahamas"},"modified":"2005-12-02T12:19:07","modified_gmt":"2005-12-02T17:19:07","slug":"english-tourist-drowns-in-bahamas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2005\/12\/english-tourist-drowns-in-bahamas","title":{"rendered":"English Tourist Drowns in Bahamas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What should have been just an ordinary snorkeling trip turned tragic for a 25-year-old tourist, who police said drowned around 3pm Tuesday.  <\/p>\n<p>Reports indicate that the victim, who is believed to be a resident of Devon, England, somehow ventured off from the group snorkeling at Stuart&#8217;s Cove, South Ocean. <\/p>\n<p>Police say the man was found a short time later in an unconscious state.<\/p>\n<p>The tourist was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n<p>In other news from the crime beat, police investigations continued yesterday into an attempted and armed robberies.<\/p>\n<p>The first incident occurred at a home in the Skyline Drive area. <\/p>\n<p>A 60-year-old man had just arrived home around 9pm Tuesday when he was approached by two men &#8211; one dressed in a ski mask and a pair of blue jeans and armed with a handgun, police reported yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>According to Police Inspector Walter Evans the man was ordered inside his home, where the robbers demanded cash. Police say as a result, the homeowner was shot in the left hip area.<\/p>\n<p>He was taken to hospital where his condition was last listed as stable.<\/p>\n<p>Meantime, the robbers reportedly escaped in a white Chevy Cavalier.<\/p>\n<p>Police say it was shortly before midnight that they received reports that two persons in the West Bay Street area had been held up and robbed by two men in a white Chevy Cavalier.<\/p>\n<p>One of the bandits has been described as approximately six feet tall with a scarf around his face, armed with a handgun.<\/p>\n<p>Police believe the two incidents are connected.<\/p>\n<p>Investigations continue. <\/p>\n<p><small>By: Macushla N.
