{"id":248393,"date":"2005-12-22T10:48:07","date_gmt":"2005-12-22T15:48:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2005\/12\/major-water-leak-affects-winton-homes"},"modified":"2005-12-22T10:48:07","modified_gmt":"2005-12-22T15:48:07","slug":"major-water-leak-affects-winton-homes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2005\/12\/major-water-leak-affects-winton-homes","title":{"rendered":"Major Water Leak Affects Winton Homes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some Winton residents were temporarily left with little or no water on Wednesday evening due to a major leak that sprung in the Over-the-Hill area, according to officials of the Water and Sewerage Corporation.  <\/p>\n<p>Officials at the corporation said they have launched an investigation into the matter.<\/p>\n<p>They said the leak occurred sometime after 4pm, in the area of 2nd Avenue and Robinson Road, according to Philip Beneby, the corporation&#8217;s assistant general manager. <\/p>\n<p>Workers were immediately dispatched to the area to launch an &#8220;aggressive&#8221; repair, he told The Bahama Journal.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We want to put the public on notice that there will likely be a shortage in the area for eastern residents.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This pipeline provides water to the Winton area and residents are likely to have a low supply or no supply of water for a few hours until the repairs are completed.
