Police issued a “Wanted Person” poster for Don Edgar Lewis in connection with the January 2nd fatal hit and run death of Judith Price. <\/p>\n

<\/a>The teenager died Monday afternoon due to serious injuries she sustained after being struck by a white vehicle, shortly after leaving a private function.<\/p>\n

Police, who allege that Miss Price was intentionally knocked down, have classified the death of the 17-year-old as the country’s first homicide of 2006. <\/p>\n

The incident occurred in the Oakes Field area, shortly after midnight, according to police reports.<\/p>\n

In their initial report of the incident, police said an 18-year-old man was walking with a group of persons in the Davis Street area when a white car pulled up alongside the group with four occupants inside.<\/p>\n

Police say it was then that the teenager was struck by the vehicle, before the driver sped off. A short time later the driver returned alone and became involved in a verbal altercation with one of the persons nearby.<\/p>\n

The driver reportedly turned the vehicle around, injuring three young women who were walking with the 18-year-old. The elder of the three girls, Judith Price, died from her injuries several hours later, around 4pm Monday.<\/p>\n

Lewis’ last known address is Maxwell Lane and Farrington Road. He is a former resident of Nicholl’s Town, Andros. <\/p>\n
