The man, in his thirties, was struck by bullets during a shoot-out in a nearby residential area following a car chase.<\/P><\/p>\n
He was found lying on his back next to his vehicle and died at the scene.<\/P><\/p>\n
The raid occurred at City Markets foodstore on Cable Beach around 7pm on Saturday.<\/P><\/p>\n
Two masked and armed men entered the store and fled with an undetermined amount of cash in a white Nissan Sentra.<\/P><\/p>\n
Police located the getaway car in the Skyline Drive area. They gave chase until the car reached Oak Hill Road, where the robbers leapt out and began firing at officers.<\/P><\/p>\n
Press liaison officer Walter Evans said police fired-back, striking one of the men in the left upper back. When officers approached, they found him lying face-up and dying. He passed away at the scene.<\/P><\/p>\n
The dead man, described as of dark complexion and medium build, was wearing a black tam, a blue Dickies coverall and tennis shoes. Police are looking for the second robber, who is still on the run.<\/P><\/p>\n

Police are also searching for a gunman and his accomplice suspected of robbing two gas stations over the weekend.<\/P><\/p>\n
Press liaison officer Walter Evans said at 5am on Saturday a man armed with a handgun entered the Shell Service Station on Blue Hill and Carmichael Roads.<\/P><\/p>\n
He tried to rob the store’s cashier, but the cash register would not open. A customer was then robbed of cash and a gold chain.<\/P><\/p>\n
The robber made his getaway in a green Hyundai Accent, which was being driven by a man of light complexion.<\/P><\/p>\n
Fifteen minutes later the suspects struck again, this time at Esso Service Station on Harrold Road.
\nAgain a male robbed the service station of an undisclosed amount of cash. A patron on the inside was also robbed.<\/P><\/p>\n
The suspect made his escape in the same green Hyundai Accent, believed to have been stolen earlier in the day, said police.<\/P><\/p>\n
At both locations the suspect was described as being a dark male about 5ft 11ins tall.<\/P><\/p>\n
Police believe both matters are connected.<\/P><\/p>\n
