Dion Bowles died a hero while attempting to protect the Bahamian community from a gang of criminals attempting a violent escape from Fox Hill prison in Nassau, Bahamas, early Tuesday morning. Two other officers, Kenneth Sweeting and Donald Armbrister were wounded in the chaos and were taken to Princess Margaret Hospital. \uffa0Their injuries do not appear to be life threatening.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Corp. Bowles is said to have been first bound and gagged before being brutally stabbed to death sometime around 4:00am in the the new West Wing of the prison.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>One prisoner, Corey Hepburn, age 36, escaped. Another was shot dead by guards during the escape attempt. Two others were wounded and were also taken to the hospital.
