{"id":248636,"date":"2006-01-24T08:05:04","date_gmt":"2006-01-24T13:05:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2006\/01\/st-georges-high-is-new-junior-junkanoo-champion"},"modified":"2006-01-24T08:05:04","modified_gmt":"2006-01-24T13:05:04","slug":"st-georges-high-is-new-junior-junkanoo-champion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2006\/01\/st-georges-high-is-new-junior-junkanoo-champion","title":{"rendered":"St Georges High Is New Junior Junkanoo Champion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><P>The St. Georges Jaguars emerged the winners in Saturday&acute;s Junior Junkanoo Parade in downtown Freeport, winning with a total of 3,166 points.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>The school had been absent from the parade for three years.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Winning in grand fashion, students of St. Georges celebrated the victory in all four categories: originality, general impression, music, and costume and dance. They also secured the coveted award for the best banner.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Coming in second in the secondary division was Eight Mile Rock High, which got 614 points; and Jack Hayward High, placed third with 572 points.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Ten schools demonstrated their resilience bouncing back from setbacks created by Hurricane Wilma.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Four-time champions, Walter Parker Primary will reign for another year. The school took home the crown in the primary school &lsquo;A&acute; division, with 3,057 points.
