{"id":248752,"date":"2006-02-07T11:20:37","date_gmt":"2006-02-07T16:20:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2006\/02\/host-leaves-radio-station-after-comments-on-pm"},"modified":"2006-02-07T11:20:37","modified_gmt":"2006-02-07T16:20:37","slug":"host-leaves-radio-station-after-comments-on-pm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2006\/02\/host-leaves-radio-station-after-comments-on-pm","title":{"rendered":"Host Leaves Radio Station After Comments on PM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><P>Michael Pintard, the host of the popular daytime talk show &#8220;Issues of the Day&#8221; and Wendall Jones, CEO of radio Love 97, have parted ways after a disagreement on comments Mr Pintard made on the show about the prime minister.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Mr Jones told The Tribune yesterday that Mr Pintard was asked to apologise on air to Prime Minister Perry Christie for comments he had made on his show about Mr Christie&#8217;s statement on the death penalty at the funeral service for slain prison officer Dion Bowles.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>When contacted, Mr Pintard said he would release a full statement before the end of the week. He said this statement would include his history at Love 97 as it relates to &#8220;Issues of the Day&#8221; and the series of events that led to his decision not to apologise as requested, and then demanded by Mr Jones and &#8220;those persons who sought to influence the tone of the show.&#8221;<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Mr Jones told The Tribune that there was a &#8220;disconnect&#8221; between what the prime minister had said at the funeral and what his government did.
