{"id":248995,"date":"2006-03-08T11:10:04","date_gmt":"2006-03-08T16:10:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2006\/03\/gunfire-near-pm-home"},"modified":"2006-03-08T11:10:04","modified_gmt":"2006-03-08T16:10:04","slug":"gunfire-near-pm-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2006\/03\/gunfire-near-pm-home","title":{"rendered":"Gunfire Near PM&#8217; Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><P>Adjustments to security around Prime Minister Perry Christie&#8217;s home are being considered after police received reports of gunfire in the area.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>At around 8:10pm Monday police received reports that shots were fired in the vicinity of the home of the prime minister&#8217;s mother-in-law, Mrs Kitty Hanna.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Mrs Hanna lives next door to Mr Christie on Cable Beach.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Speaking with The Tribune yesterday, Chief Supt Hulan Hanna said that police immediately rushed to the scene, but could not detect any sign of &#8220;mischief.&#8221;<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>&#8220;Nevertheless, we called in crime scene investigators to look over the area, but there was no indication that anything untoward had happened,&#8221; he said.<\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Mr Hanna said that police are satisfied that the prime minister and his family members were at no time the targets of a criminal act. He emphasised that police are committed at all times to ensuring Mr Christie&#8217;s safety and his ability to move about unfettered.
