A 38-year-old former resident of South Beach is facing a string of stealing charges in connection with almost $14,000. <\/p>\n
It is alleged that Lennox Rolle stole the funds from Nassau Flight Services while he was an employee of the company in 1999.<\/p>\n
In February 1999, Rolle allegedly stole $963.26. And again in April he allegedly stole an additional $695.28.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors also allege that sometime in May, Rolle allegedly stole funds amounting to $7,990.30, at seven different times; and in June he allegedly stole $924.48 on five separate occasions.<\/p>\n
In total Rolle allegedly stole $13,942.69 over a four-month period.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors told the court that Rolle had been in another jurisdiction, where he also has a matter pending.<\/p>\n
Rolle, who was represented by Roger Gomez Jr., was arraigned yesterday before Magistrate Susan Sylvester but was not required to plead.<\/p>\n
Magistrate Sylvester granted Rolle $5,000 bail with one surety and set a preliminary inquiry date for July 6.<\/p>\n
In other court matters:<\/p>\n
Johnson Road residents, 26-year-old Haitian, Lucksioner Mesadieu, and a Bahamian, Valentino Major, 22, were charged with possession of a forged document, uttering a forged document and attempted fraud by false pretences.<\/p>\n
Major did not show up for yesterday’s arraignment due to other matters in another court and is scheduled to return to face the forgery charges at a later date.<\/p>\n
It is alleged that on March 30, Mesadieu and Major had a forged Royal Bank of Canada cheque in the amount of $3,300 and attempted to cash it at a Royal Bank branch.<\/p>\n
The signature on cheque number 748 was allegedly not genuine.<\/p>\n
Mesadieu pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted $2,000 bail.<\/p>\n
He will return to court on June 26 for a preliminary inquiry.<\/p>\n
