According to Police Inspector Walter Evans, after 10pm police received a call about a shooting in the Sunset Park area.<\/p>\n
Police had not yet determined a motive behind this latest homicide, but they confirmed that the victim was shot in the back several times.<\/p>\n
Inspector Evans said the man, who is believed to have been in his mid-20s, was taken to hospital, but later succumbed to those injuries shortly before 6am Thursday morning. <\/p>\n
His death pushed the country’s murder count to 16 for this year<\/p>\n
Meantime, police said they were following some leads into the murder of Reeves Roberts, whose lifeless body was discovered lying between two buildings on Dorsett Alley with a gunshot wound to the face early Wednesday.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, yet another shooting in another New Providence community left many residents shaken. This time, the shooting took place in broad daylight through Strachan’s Corner, just off East Street.<\/p>\n
The shooting reportedly took place around 11am and apparently resulted from an altercation between two men whose names were not released.<\/p>\n
The man who was shot in the ordeal was rushed to hospital and a hospital source said he had undergone treatment in the Accident and Emergency unit. His condition was unknown last night.<\/p>\n
Residents of Strachan’s Corner said after the shooting, the shooter drove off in a white vehicle. Police soon discovered that vehicle parked in front of a plaza at 7th Terrace Centreville. The shooter reportedly ran off on foot.<\/p>\n
