Chief Superintendent Marvin Dames with responsibility for the Central Detective Unit (CDU) said yesterday, that the report was made to police by a 36-year-old man from Ridgeland Park.<\/p>\n
At about 1 a.m. on Saturday past, the complainant and his female friend had just arrived at his Ridgeland Park home, when they were accosted by two masked, armed men.<\/p>\n
The men allegedly tied the pair up and robbed them of $500, a Rolex watch and other personal items. <\/p>\n
“Before leaving, they raped the female,” Chief Dames said. <\/p>\n
They reportedly fled the property in a dark grey 2000 Honda Inspire, which was later recovered at Johnstone Avenue. <\/p>\n
Additionally, police were called in to investigate several stabbings over the weekend.<\/p>\n
Sometime around 8.08 p.m. on Saturday, a 41-year-old man told police that he was involved in a heated argument with another man known to him at Gun Hill, Fox Hill. <\/p>\n
As a result, he was stabbed in the right upper back and transported to hospital with serious injuries. Officers from CDU arrested a 26-year-old man from Golden Gates #1 in connection with the stabbing. <\/p>\n
Meantime, at about 8.50 p.m. on Saturday, Mr Dames said a 24-year-old man of Charles Vincent Street reported to police that when chatting with a friend at the residence, a man wielding a cutlass approached and attacked them. <\/p>\n
In the process of trying to disarm the man known to them, the 24-year-old suffered a serious chop to the back of the head. <\/p>\n
According to Chief Dames, a 36-year-old man of Miami Street was arrested in connection with the incident. <\/p>\n
On Friday at about 12 a.m. a 30-year-old man told police that he had just pulled up at Esso on the Run Gas Station on East Bay Street. A few moments later, two men pulled up behind him in a green Honda Accord car, exited the vehicle and walked towards him. <\/p>\n
One of the men was armed with a knife and upon seeing this, the waiting man tried to secure his vehicle. <\/p>\n
However, he was unsuccessful and ended up being stabbed by the man in the lower left back and right arm, Mr Dames said. His injuries were listed as none life-threatening. All investigations into the foregoing incidents continue.<\/p>\n
