Full Gospel Baptist Bishop Earl Randolph (Randy) Fraser, who is facing a sex charge, returned to a Magistrate’s court in Bank Lane yesterday where a date was set for the start of a summary trail. <\/p>\n
Bishop Fraser is on a $10,000 bail after being charged recently with having sexual intercourse with a dependent. He stands accused of abusing his trust.<\/p>\n
During the brief court proceeding yesterday, it was decided that the bishop would appear before Magistrate Marilyn Meeres on July 17 for the start of his trial.<\/p>\n
Bishop Fraser had the option of having his case heard in the Supreme Court or the Magistrate court, which he chose.<\/p>\n
A summary trail means that the case will be heard and decided in the Magistrate\uff92s court. Witnesses will be called to give testimony, as is the case in the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n
Bishop Fraser, who leads Pilgrim Full Gospel Baptist Temple, is accused of having sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old female between July 2005 and February 2006.<\/p>\n
He arrived at court shortly before 10am yesterday before dozens of curious onlookers who had assembled in the area of court number 5 trying to get a glimpse of him.<\/p>\n
Following his short court appearance, the bishop was rushed into a waiting vehicle, which whisked him away from the area. <\/p>\n
