{"id":25351,"date":"2012-09-05T22:03:15","date_gmt":"2012-09-06T02:03:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=25351"},"modified":"2012-09-05T22:03:15","modified_gmt":"2012-09-06T02:03:15","slug":"bahamian-man-on-americas-most-wanted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2012\/09\/bahamian-man-on-americas-most-wanted","title":{"rendered":"Bahamian Man On America&#8217;s Most Wanted"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_25352\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-25352\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-25352\" title=\"almanto-coakley\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/almanto-coakley.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/almanto-coakley.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/almanto-coakley-150x112.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-25352\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Almanto Coakley<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A Bahamian man is wanted in the U.S. for questioning in the 2002 murder of 17-year-old Marissa Karp in South Florida.<\/p>\n<p>Thirty-eight-year-old Almanto Coakley, who also goes by the alias Shawn Smith, was profiled on the popular crime show America&#8217;s Most Wanted on Friday, which airs on the Lifetime network.<\/p>\n<p>According to the show, Coakley is also wanted for the murder of two other people by Sunrise Police.<\/p>\n<p>It is reported that Coakley shot three people, two of whom he killed.<\/p>\n<p>Coakley and Karp, who was his girlfriend, lived together at the time of her death.<\/p>\n<p>The 17-year old, who was shot to death, is believed to have been killed in the apartment before her body was dumped and discovered several days later.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Sun Sentinel, Karp&#8217;s body was discovered in a garbage bag under an Alligator Alley bridge in Collier County on August 19, 2002.<\/p>\n<p>Ten years have passed and her murder has still not been solved.<\/p>\n<p>America&#8217;s Most Wanted said Coakley was not wanted for Karp&#8217;s murder, but police believed he could provide them with answers about her death.<\/p>\n<p>The Sun Sentinel said Karp&#8217;s family thought the 17-year old, whose mother had recently died, was struggling with the loss and she began to spend time with people who were thought to have been involved in drugs.<\/p>\n<p>While police are unaware of Coakley&#8217;s whereabouts, it is believed he is in hiding in The Bahamas where he is said to have frequented Freeport and Nassau.<\/p>\n<p>Coakley is described as 5&#8242;
