The Cosmetic Boutique, located on Bay Street across from John Bull’s main store, was closed exclusively to party guests for two hours. Ladies enjoyed pampering, a raffle, champagne and hors d’oeuvres as they shopped all in aid of raising funds.

Breast cancer is affecting women in The Bahamas at an alarming and increasing rate. One of the best methods of beating breast cancer is through early detection. Similarly, early detection of prostate cancer saves lives.

“Unfortunately, The Bahamas has an unusually high rate of breast cancer particularly hereditary breast cancer,” said Kelly Meister of the Inner Wheel Club of East Nassau. “Our goal is to raise funds to assist the Cancer Society with their ongoing cancer screenings for breast and prostate cancer in the Family Islands and for research into the gene. We sincerely thank John Bull for allowing us to host our party in such a lovely setting and for their support of this cause.”

“Since Corporate Social Responsibility is at the core of John Bull’s corporate culture; we were naturally delighted to provide the venue in support of Inner Wheel’s fundraising initiative. We definitely share the passion these ladies have for the CAUSE as John Bull Group of Companies also supports the work of The Cancer Society of The Bahamas.”

“The Pretty in Pink Party was a great success and a wonderful celebration for all who attended,” added Mrs. Meister. “Many of our members have personally been affected by breast cancer or their family members have fought the disease. We hope that our effort will help many detect breast and cancer early which ultimately saves lives.”

Inner Wheel of East Nassau is a non-profit women’s charitable organization that is affiliated with Rotary. Their events raise funds for several non-profit organizations.

Kelly Cartwright-Meister
Bahamas Media Consultants Ltd.

Photo: (L-R) Karen Carey, Vice President of Inner Wheel; Amy Sands, Manager of the Cosmetic Boutique; Kelly Meister, President, Inner Wheel; Dorian Roach, Division Leader, John Bull; Heather Peterson, Secretary, Inner Wheel and Robin Symonette, Treasurer of Inner Wheel, at the Pretty in Pink party held at The Cosmetic Boutique in aid of breast cancer.

The Inner Wheel Club of East Nassau turned John Bull’s Cosmetic Boutique pink recently with its first Pretty in Pink Party to raise funds to assist the Cancer Society.

{"facebook_10223285771444175_51037792744":"
[3
61,19
post-27234","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-business","tag-charity","tag-health
["GET
