Robert Sands, Baha Mar’s senior vice-president of governmental and external affairs, confirmed that the Wyndham hotel on Cable Beach reopened Tuesday after being closed for six weeks in what has become an annual ritual to save money.<\/p>\n
The six-week closure of its Wyndham Resort and Crystal Palace Casino was said to have “helped to minimise” losses incurred during the traditional tourist slow season.\u00a0 All 550 rooms at the Wyndham are now back on line.<\/p>\n
October occupancy levels for the property are expected to match 2009 levels, in the low 40 per cent range.<\/p>\n
No staff members were terminated during the six-week closure.<\/p>\n
