The results show that 17,000 more voters voted no on the question of web shop gaming than those who voted yes.<\/p>\n
There were 48,012 no votes and 30,767 yes votes.<\/p>\n
The second question on the ballot \u2014 whether a national lottery should be established \u2014 was decided by a similar margin.<\/p>\n
According to the results, 46,961 voters voted no and 33,170 voted yes to that question, a difference of 14,791 votes.<\/p>\n
In New Providence, 33,690 voted no on whether web shops should be regulated and taxed and 22,290 voters voted yes.<\/p>\n
On the national lottery question, 32,799 voted no and 23,791 voters voted yes.<\/p>\n
In the Family Islands, 14,322 voted no on question one while 8,477 voters voted yes.<\/p>\n

Acting Parliamentary Commissioner Sherlyn Hall said the referendum process was smooth.<\/p>\n
In the February 2002 constitutional referendum, voter turnout was 61.4 percent.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Perry Christie has promised another constitutional referendum before July. He has also committed to holding a referendum on oil drilling at some point during this term.<\/p>\n
