{"id":31634,"date":"2013-02-13T22:54:17","date_gmt":"2013-02-14T03:54:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=31634"},"modified":"2013-02-13T22:54:17","modified_gmt":"2013-02-14T03:54:17","slug":"cable-bahamas-blasted-as-wantonly-arrogant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2013\/02\/cable-bahamas-blasted-as-wantonly-arrogant","title":{"rendered":"Cable Bahamas Blasted As &#8216;Wantonly Arrogant&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-27238\" title=\"Cable-Bahamas\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Cable-Bahamas.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Cable-Bahamas.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Cable-Bahamas-150x112.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Cable Bahamas was blasted by the FNM Chairman Darron Cash as being \u201cwantonly arrogant\u201d in its response to the rejection of its monthly SuperBasic TV rate increase proposal.<\/p>\n<p>In an article in The Tribune, Mr. Cash indicated that, during the Utilities Regulatiion &amp; Competition Authority\u2019s (URCA) consultation process, Cable Bahamas had not been sensitive to concerns raised by consumers regarding quality of service<\/p>\n<p>In that article Mr. Cash was quoted: \u201cCable Bahamas has taken a fairly liberal response to the question of their obligation to put cable TV throughout the country, trying to lean more to the nuanced letter of the agreement as opposed to the spirit of the agreement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Cash said the responsefrom Cable Bahamas to URCA\u2019s decision was \u201cinappropriate\u201d and \u201ctypical of the wanton arrogance that Bahamians have seen from that company for many years\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Cable Bahamas expressed frustration and called URCA&#8217;s decision \u201cdisappointing\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>David Burrows, head of marketing at Cable Bahamas was interviewed by The Tribune and during which time he accused the URCA of operating \u201cinside, outside and above the law\u201d over a decision that will cost the company \u201cmillions and millions of dollars\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Burrows said Cable Bahamas was \u201coutraged\u201d that URCA rejected its request for an $8 monthly increase to the residential SuperBasic TV service.<\/p>\n<p>The Tribune article quoted Mr. Cash: \u201cI commend URCA for doing the right thing in this instance.
