The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture has established partnerships with the Governor-General\u2019s Youth Awards (GGYA) and Certified Youth Financial Educator Keshelle Kerr to ensure that today\u2019s youth have access to a structured programme designed to promote financial literacy.<\/p>\n<p>All GGYA members are required to engage in activities and acquire new skills. Therefore, the Division of Youth will offer a series of workshops using a Commonwealth Youth Programme \u201cMaking the Most of Your Money,\u201d developed through the Commonwealth Secretariat.<\/p>\n<p>The first financial literacy session will be held Monday, February 25 9:30 \u2013 12:30 p. m. in the Youth Conference Room, Ground Floor, Education Building, Thompson Boulevard. Through this programme, the Division seeks to develop \u201ccapabilities and assets while providing activities required as a means to make a living.\u201d The goal is to promote youth enterprise by developing foundations for sustainable livelihoods.<\/p>\n<p>Through Creative Wealth Bahamas, Ms. Keshelle Kerr has expanded and modified the Commonwealth Youth Programme to create a curriculum specifically designed for young mothers, challenged by the current economic environment. This workshop will be executed in April.
