Bahamas Striping, the road marking company that has spawned a new local industry that was once monopolised by foreigners, recently completed three days of training for five new staff.<\/p>\n
Dan Brocksmith, Sales Manager of Florida TransCor, Inc, Florida\u2019s leading supplier of road safety supplies, flew in from Jacksonville to train Bahamas Striping\u2019s new and existing staff.<\/p>\n
Also an expert striper, Brocksmith lent his knowledge of the recently purchased Graco Lazerliner 200HS to young Bahamians who were recently recruited to form multiple striping teams to work on large road safety marking projects expected to start in early 2013.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe training went fantastically well,\u201d said Brocksmith. \u201cThe experienced staff and the new trainees were very receptive and learned a lot. We learnt how to prepare and get the airless pressurized paint sprayers operating perfectly. We deal with hundred of companies around the south USA and Caribbean Islands and I rarely see such a young accomplished team as I did here.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s wonderful to see such a small company as Bahamas Striping investing in training. It was very positive experience and I hope to come back to visit this beautiful country,\u201d said Brocksmith.<\/p>\n
Bahamas Striping President Atario Mitchell thought the investment worthwhile.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s vital that we give our young men opportunities, not only to work but also to acquire technical knowledge,\u201d said Mitchell. \u201cWe were pleased that Dan gave us his time to share some of his striping secrets. He told us things about operating our new sprayer that will prove invaluable to extend its life and achieve optimum results.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis new top-of-the line paint machine complements our thermoplastic equipment. A third Graco machine will enable us to work on up to three paint projects at the same time. Now our guys can prepare and start operating these machines practically by themselves,\u201d said Mitchell.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur policy at Bahamas Striping is to buy as much good training for our men as we can afford. And we even go beyond that. We feel it\u2019s necessary in these troubled times to help the country in fighting vagrancy and crime. Giving people opportunities to progress and have a positive future is something we can do,\u201d said the 26-year old president. \u201cAfter all, that\u2019s how I got started.\u201d<\/p>\n
