Since 2011 the Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) has partnered with the Nassau Guardian to produce a weekly column in the Business section called ‘Tourism Champions’.<\/p>\nSince 2011 the Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) has partnered with the Nassau Guardian to produce a weekly column in the Business section called ‘Tourism Champions’.<\/p>\n
This has featured interviews with over 100 persons from all walks of our industry who are making a difference in their own way.<\/p>\n
The BHTA invites you to recommend employees, managers, vendor reps, a taxi driver, etc. at any level (line, management, ownership) who you believe exemplifies the very best that our industry offers.<\/p>\n
The weekly feature not only highlights the individual but it also highlights your company and can include a photo of the Champion with a captioned shot in the feature.<\/p>\n
Our goals are quite simple:<\/p>\n
(1) To recognize and showcase the depth and breadth of talent in our industry;<\/p>\n
(2) to broaden the public’s appreciation and understanding of the industry; and<\/p>\n
(3) to motivate others to consider pursuing one of the more than 1,000 different job\/career classifications in tourism.<\/p>\n
