Returns To Andros For Spay\/Neuter Clinic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Local Animal Welfare Charity Baark! spays and neuters 101 dogs and cats in Mangrove Cay<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-33619\" title=\"baark-1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/baark-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/baark-1.jpg 540w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/baark-1-150x69.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/baark-1-250x115.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Baark!\u2019s (Bahamas Alliance for Animal Rights and Kindness) outreach to the Family Islands continued with the most recent clinic being held in Mangrove Cay, Andros on the 15th-17th of March 2013. On the heels of extremely successful \u201cOperation Potcake\u201d in January this year, Baark! extended it\u2019s efforts to host a low cost spay and neuter clinic in Little Harbour, Mangrove Cay.<\/p>\n<p>During Operation Potcake, Mr. Lionel Rolle of Mangrove Cay approached Baark volunteers about the animal overpopulation in Mangrove Cay and asked for assistance.\u00a0 Following the success of previous Baark! clinics in Fresh Creek and Cargill Creek, Andros, traveling south to Mangrove Cay was a perfect fit to Baark!\u2019s continued efforts in Andros.<\/p>\n<p>Rick Goodlander, an Andros resident, shared, \u201cIt is so great putting together these clinics and seeing the community members partnering with Baark! by donating accommodation, lunches, transport and a clinic site.\u00a0 People who had their pets spayed or neutered contributed what they could afford towards the costs\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-33620\" title=\"baark-222\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/baark-222.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/baark-222.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/baark-222-150x112.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/baark-222-250x187.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>The goal of 60 sterilizations was impressively exceeded.\u00a0 Dr. Dorsett of Nassau Pet Clinic was extremely pleased with the results, \u201cIn total we spayed and neutered 101 dogs and cats. A combination of stray and owned pets\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 One of the positive impacts of spay and neuter clinics is the educational benefits.\u00a0\u00a0 Dr. Smith of Marathon Pet Clinic, \u201cPeople spend a lot of time with us at the clinic, observing what we do.\u00a0\u00a0 It\u2019s great when the kids of the community come down and check out what is going on.
