An alarming and growing trend.<\/p>\n<p>In several cases the armed robberies took place as people arrived at their homes and were accosted. Police are asking people to be more aware.<\/p>\n<p>Commissioner of Police Ellison Greenslade said the trend of armed robberies occurring since the beginning of the year has been \u201cvery disconcerting\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very disconcerting the number of armed robberies that we\u2019ve been having over time, since the start of the year,\u201d Mr. Greenslade said. \u201cActually, we\u2019ve seen the same thing, last year, and I\u2019ve commented before, as I comment again, now \u2013 far too many armed robberies are occurring.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFar too many unemployed, young adults \u2013 predominantly males \u2013 in this community are prepared to rob people for their hard earned property and they, themselves are not prepared to work. We have deployed officers to continue to seek these people out.
