{"id":3479,"date":"2010-10-26T08:40:49","date_gmt":"2010-10-26T12:40:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=3479"},"modified":"2010-10-26T08:40:49","modified_gmt":"2010-10-26T12:40:49","slug":"voter-registration-continues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2010\/10\/voter-registration-continues","title":{"rendered":"Voter Registration Continues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Parliamentary Commissioner wishes to remind the general public that Voter Registration continues on a daily basis in New Providence and in the Family Islands.<\/p>\n<p>Persons applying for registration must be Bahamian citizens, 18 years and older and must have resided in a particular constituency for three months or more.<\/p>\n<p>Voter Registration Centres are opened in New Providence between the hours of 10:00 a.m. &#8212; 4:00 p.m. at the following locations:<\/p>\n<p>(1) The Parliamentary Registration Department, Farrington Road<\/p>\n<p>(2) The Town Centre and Marathon Malls<\/p>\n<p>(3) The General Post Office, East Hill Street<\/p>\n<p>(4) The Sub-Post Office, Carmichael Road<\/p>\n<p>(5) The Sub Post Office, South Beach<\/p>\n<p>(6) The Sub-Post Office, Elizabeth Estates<\/p>\n<p>In Grand Bahama, centres are opened between the hours of 9:30 a.m. &#8211; 4:30 p.m. at:<\/p>\n<p>Parliamentary Registration Department, Freeport<\/p>\n<p>(2) Administrator&#8217;s Office, Eight Mile Rock (3) Administrator&#8217;s Office, High Rock (Tuesdays and Thursdays)<\/p>\n<p>In the Family Islands, registration takes place at the Administrators&#8217; Offices in the various Family Islands between the hours of 9:30 a.m. &#8211; 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>First time applicants for registration must provide proof of citizenship, preferably<\/p>\n<p>(1) A valid Bahamian Passport, or<\/p>\n<p>(2) Birth Certificate along with an official ID<\/p>\n<p>Persons previously registered may present the current voter&#8217;s card.\u00a0 All applicants for registration are informed that the Revising Officer may request other reasonable evidence (i.e. documents) that he\/she considers necessary to prove that the applicant is qualified to register, and has not already been registered.<\/p>\n<p>Errol W.
