{"id":3505,"date":"2010-10-26T11:51:52","date_gmt":"2010-10-26T15:51:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=3505"},"modified":"2010-10-27T08:15:37","modified_gmt":"2010-10-27T12:15:37","slug":"underwater-scooter-allows-for-reef-exploration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2010\/10\/underwater-scooter-allows-for-reef-exploration","title":{"rendered":"Underwater Scooter Allows For Reef Exploration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new underwater scooter designed by a British inventor allows people who can&#8217;t swim to explore coral reefs and without extensive scuba-diving training.<\/p>\n<p>Holidaymakers can put on the helmet-like dome and dive to up to 100 feet at tourist sites around the world after a 10 minute briefing.<\/p>\n<p>The device is continually filled with oxygen from an onboard tank while the user is in the water.<\/p>\n<p>Users of the new HydroBOB device do not need goggles, breathing apparatus or a wet suit and they can wear glasses, talk and even scratch their nose underwater.<\/p>\n<p>A clear acrylic dome gives a 180 degree view and the oxygen tank is big enough to give over an hour&#8217;s use before resurfacing.<\/p>\n<p>A 12 volt battery stored under the seat allows the scooter to move at two knots.
