Four Defence Force officers and two other men were arrested yesterday after one of the officers was found to be in possession of $50,000 worth of suspected cocaine at Grand Bahama International Airport.<\/p>\n
Police reports say, that acting on information, officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit went to the Freeport airport around 11am.\u2028There, they conducted a search of a Defence Force officer who was getting onto an aircraft. The officer was arrested after two dark, taped packages were discovered in a black knapsack he was carrying.\u2028Three other Defence Force officers were taken into custody for questioning in connection with the find; two other men were also arrested at the airport in relation to the incident, police say.<\/p>\n
The suspected drugs weighed five pounds and have a street value of $50,000, according to police. Active investigations continue.<\/p>\n
